Edinburgh MEETS Macau

As part of the Macau Edinburgh Exchange Tour (MEET), we taught in two schools using interactive projects to improve student’s English proficiency. Thanks to the Go Abroad Fund I was able to travel to China and experience all that Macau and Hong Kong had to offer.

Our Team including organisers: Chak, Chun and Felix.

Our team of mentors was made up of 20 different students from the University of Edinburgh across various levels and degrees.

Some of Macau and Hong Kong’s must see sights (L to R): Ruins of St Paul, Senado Square, the mini Eiffel Tower at Parisian Casino and Tian Tan Buddha on Ngong Ping Island.

After completing the programme, our students graduated. I gave a speech on behalf of all the mentors.

My project focused on the history of Macau and Scotland. Our students loved learning about Scottish culture and trying Irn Bru.

Our Morning Class alongwith the posters they produced on Scottish history and culture.

We explored Macau on our time off and even managed a weekend trip to Hong Kong. From trying local cuisine to being caught in a thunderstorm, we experienced a lot.
