200 Hour YTT in Rishikesh, India

I spent June 2019 in Rishikesh, India, completing a 200-hour intensive Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) course.

Since starting a yoga practice four years ago, it has transformed the way in which I live. For me, it has illuminated the connection between mind and body and created an essential space to exist away from my own anxieties and insecurities, as well as the stresses of normal life. I have wanted to train as a yoga teacher for a number of years now so that I would have the opportunity to help others have this experience and to really understand themselves in mind and body.

The month I spent in Rishikesh gave me this qualification to teach others, but also went deeper into the philosophical world of yoga than I have ever experienced at home. Yoga is so much more than the physical practice it is commonly used to describe and actually encompasses a complete set of guiding principles for life; from self- and social- disciplines to breathwork and meditation.

The experience taught me so much which I hope to share with others through teaching classes and a lot which I am able to incorporate into my own life now I am back in Edinburgh.
