Sustainable Engineering and Cultural Exploration in India

In the summer of 2018 during the month of June, I travelled to Chennai in India for an International Summer School on ‘Recent Developments in Engineering and Technology’, with the help of the Go Abroad Fund.  Being a person of Indian heritage, but having never visited the country, I was particularly drawn towards this trip as it gave me a chance to further explore my culture and ancestry. Although the video mostly covers the cultural aspects of the trip, it also gave me the opportunity to work and communicate with people of different skillsets, backgrounds, and experiences. The programme covered a large range of topics from Nanoscience and Technology to Renewable Energy and Energy Storage to Ocean Management to Geology. The lectures gave me so many new insights and sparked interests in topics I would have never thought to be interesting.
